What We Did This Year ~ Curriculum Wise

I'm going to do this in 3 posts..It's easier for me to type than an all-in-one post..So we're going to start out with Trev..

Religion - Well we did The New St. Joe's Baltimore Catechism #1..Then for supplements we did "A Year With God", "Holy Hero's Advent Adventures" which was on the computer..& We wound the year up with the P.A.C.E. program..

Any of these are wonderful to use..

History - Our United States (Included in 4th grade CHC lesson plans)

We had a really good time doing this, this year..We did a Geography Bee with the family at the end of this year..

Math - For Math we did Saxon 5/4, but Trevor doesn't like Saxon..So we're going to do another Math this year..

Grammar - Language of God Level C..Don't get me wrong..I really love CHC, but it just seems like they are done in no time..

Science - My Temple of the Holy Spirit & Nutrition, Health & First Aid for Catholic Boys & Girls..This was included in CHC's 4th grade lesson plans also..

Trevor really enjoyed doing the parts of the body..

Reading - God's Little Angels & Rare Catholic Stories..Trevor wasn't too impressed with these..He'd rather read different books..Which he did..

Spanish - Spanish Booklet Level 1/Elementary, Spanish Dictionary for Beginners..Trevor loves Spanish..So we're going to be doing it again this year..

Spelling - My Catholic Speller Level C

Trevor does very well with this..

Vocabulary - Wordly Wise Book 1..Trevor did not like this book at all..He only did 2 lessons..

Phys. Ed./Art/Music - We did a variety of things for these subjects..

We also went on Field Trips, and did things with our homeschool group..

So that's it for Trevor this year..Next time I will post Ari's..

We use CHC too for most of our things. What I don't get from CHC I get from Seton and/or my local Library. At times, I feel like they get the work done "too quickly", but at the same time they are retaining it and short simple lessons that they are remembering might be better then longer lessons :)

I agree with you about the kids retaining the information. We also use Seton & the Library..It's just when we use CHC, near the end of the year I'm having to make up things for them to do..Thanks for the comment..
